Swan Hill Blue Ribbon Foundation

The Victorian Police Blue Ribbon Foundation established a Blue Ribbon committee in Swan Hill in 2006.

The committee’s role will be to raise funds within the local community with all proceeds going to Swan Hill District Health on behalf of police killed in the line of duty.

Chairman of the Swan Hill Blue Ribbon Foundation, Senior Sergeant Gary Hughes, expects the group’s fundraising efforts to have a positive impact on the local Hospital.

The foundation in Swan Hill was formed in perpetual remembrance of Senior Constable Robert ‘Rocky’ Lane who was tragically killed on duty in 1979.

To date the committee have held trivia nights, Inside Story Evenings, Ball, Racing meetings, Monthly BBQ's at the Rotary market and Charity Golf & Bowls Day and raised over $40,000.
