The Victorian Department of Health has launched its free, online learning package covering the basic principles of infection prevention and control – IPC eLearning.
IPC eLearning contains content for non-clinical workers across all sectors and has been designed based on our team’s IPC response, education and advice provided during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially for vulnerable people and groups. It was developed in partnership with VICNISS, one of Australia’s leading organisations responsible for conducting infection surveillance, prevention and control in acute and aged care.
IPC eLearning includes six short modules – chain of infection, hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning, waste and working in an outbreak.
If you interested in completing this training, visit https://www.vicniss.org.au/resources/ipc-elearning-modules/ to access IPC eLearning. The IPC eLearning web page is open access with no log in required and can be viewed on any device.
Modules can be used to supplement existing training, with completion certificates available for each module. Summary sheets are also available to download or print with each module.
